MORTGAGE ORIGINATION
The Mortgage Origination Industry has matured in South Africa since its inception in the late 90’s and today accounts for close to 70 % of all home loans that are placed with the major Banks in SA. Following in the footsteps of the Australian and UK markets, the Industry has come to be respected by the Banks as an intermediary arranging finance for a prospective home buyer with a financial institution.
The originator is the link between the client and various Banks, providing the home purchaser with professional advice in terms of pricing (interest rate) and the various products available from the mortgage lenders.
DIMENSION HOME LOAN GROUP (DHL)
Established in 1999 by Tom Gillham, the incumbent CEO. He is an ex banker with over with over 30 years experience, which includes the Professional Market, the merging of Perm and Nedbank Schemes Divisions, Asset Finance and Home Loans.
Tom sought to create a unique system which would add value to financial institutions and the consumer and together with Comcorp established the CPC concept with a totally paperless environment. The CPC’S control the quality of submissions to the lenders and ensure daily follow-up and feedback to the sources of home loan applications. This has enhanced the relationships between DHL and the mortgage lenders.

CENTRALISED PROCESSING CENTRE
All bond applications are forwarded to the banks via the CPC. The bond applications are captured on the system and sent electronically to the banks. The system is completely electronic and paperless. This technology increases our efficiency in processing applications. It allows for daily electronic reporting on all applications.
Dimension has positioned itself as an Industry leader in processing with its paperless and fully electronic environment. DHL recently invested in a DIGINET electronic network, backed up by ADSL.
The Banks regard the process as being state of the art. One of the critical factors is that all applications are pre-screened and only qualified applications are submitted electronically to the Banks. The Banks are also insisting on a single point of entry and communication and this further enhances the CPC concept.
